Im not going to install this update because of the excessive permissions it is asking for. It is NONE of Amazons business which accounts exist on my device and which networks are connected. This is on principle, there is nothing to hide. I never install apps which ask for such invasive and unnecessary permissions. In my book the new Kindle app for Android v4.0.1.3 is a breach of my privacy. Ill keep using the old version, thank you.

Not all of your books will sync/show up on your Droid. At least my Droid Eris doesnt let it happen. The App just shows a few. I have NO idea which or why the ones that hit the phone appear.

The app was great the way it was. This redesign is absolutely horrible. I uninstalled all updates to get back to the version that came on my device in order to get rid of this latest version.
The menus and interaction with your library have changed, and its just not how I want to interact with it.
Plus the Android back button used to close the app, which is the behavior I wanted. Now it just navigates back within the app. Totally annoying behavior.

The newest update for Kindle takes up almost 30MB of memory space on my phone. Also, it cannot be moved off to my SD card. Additionally, permissions changed inexplicably. Uninstalling until these issues are resolved.

I have a vm optimus which has very little internal space and the old version was 7 megs so it was not too bad but now the app doubled in space. is there anyway to get my old kindle app back this one is not low end

I used to love this app. I worked well, synced easily with my kindle, and was convenient when I found myself with a few unexpected minutes to update that came out yesterday was supposed to just change the permissions. Instead it swelled the app to 25.75MB and it takes up way too much of the memory on my phone. I had to uninstall the app. Please fix, or make the old app available. I miss this app. It used to be 5 stars, now its 1 only because I cant give it app takes up mose space that Flashplayer and Maps combined.

In my opinion, the 4.0.0.304 update constitutes a significant reduction in ease-of-use. The first, and most obvious change, is the home screen. In previous versions, this was a list of the e-books on your device; in the current version, the top 2/3 of your display is a carousel presentation of the most recently-read e-books, and the bottom third has a presentation of either Best Sellers or Recommended books. When I read a book with the app and finish it, thats almost certainly going to be the last book on the device Im going to pick to read again; having the carousel be filled with my most recently-read books is a list of the books I dont want to pick, which makes it useless to me. Similarly, I do my shopping for e-books from Amazon through their website, where I can flip through lists of e-books and open new tabs for the ones that look interesting, then go back after Ive collected a number of possibilities and look them over at more leisure. When I open my Kindle app on my tablet, Im looking to read an e-book, not buy one; this makes the remainder of the home screen a waste of display space.
Then there are the categories for listing the items on the device - - On Device, Books, Docs, Newsstand. I dont have anything in Newsstand, so I dont know how the category is defined, but Books and Docs appear to be E-book purchases made from Amazon and Any e-book not purchased from Amazon, respectively; innocently expecting to find all the books Id loaded on my tablet, I selected Books and found that all of the books Id bought from were missing; they show up under Docs, and On Device shows everything. I am having the same problem. The download is fine, read for days, and then without warning all my current and archived books are gone. All I have is the message on the homepage: You have no Kindle titles in your library.

A number of mobile devices support Miracast, a new wireless display standard that allows you to stream content directly to your TV. Unlike Googles Chromecast, which grabs content from the cloud and streams it when you hit a button on your phone or tablet, Miracast displays a complete mirror of your devices display whether youre swiping through your home screens, surfing the Web, playing a game or watching a movie. Though there are still few set-top boxes and even fewer TVs that can receive a Miracast signal, several Android Mini PCs offer this important capability.
In just a few simple steps you can turn your Android Mini PC into a Miracast wireless display dongle for your TV and connect it to an Android phone or tablet.
Android Mini PC: To find out if you can use Miracast on your mini PC, look for a program called WifiDisplay in your app menu. If its not present, you may need a custom ROM or you may not be able to do Miracast at this time.However, most of the quad-core and many of the dual-core Android sticks support Miracast.
Android PhonesTablets: The Nexus 4 and new Nexus 7 provide Miracast support as does the ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7, the new Moto X phone and the 2013 Motorola Droid series. The Wi-Fi alliance maintains an extensive, but not complete list of Miracast-capable devices. If your phone has a wireless display option under Settings Display, it does Miracast.
1. Launch the WifiDisplay app on your Android stick.
2. Click Setting. A dialog box appears asking you to rename your device.
3. Rename the device to something memorable such as Android Stick and click Ok.
4. Select Wi-Fi from the Settings Menu on your Android phone or tablet.
6. Select Rename Device and enter an intuitive name for your phone such as My Nexus 4.
7. Select Display from the Settings Menu on your phone.
10. Tap Search for Displays. The phone should then show the name of your Android stick. If it does not appear right away, you may have to tap Search more than once.
11. Click the WiFiDisplay appss search button on your Android stick. The name of your phone ex: Nexus 4 should appear under a list of Peer devices.
12. Tap on the name of the Android stick and wait patiently while it it doesnt connect, toggle your Wi-Fi on and off and try again. It may take a couple of tries.
After successfully connecting, your phone will be paired with the stick and you should be able to connect the two just by tapping on the Android stick name from the phones wireless display menu. To disconnect, pull down the notification drawer on your phone and tap disconnect.
Unfortunately, when we connected a Nexus 4 phone with a CX-919 quad-core Android mini PC using Miracast, videos and games were a bit jerky. However, sound was smooth and still images such as Web pages or photos from our gallery were sharp and flawless while navigating around the UI was smooth. Your results may vary.

Hi Avram, i hava a doubt, can we do mircast from a phone to tablet? I read that we can do miracast from phone, tablet to Smart tv. Please reply if you have any idea.
I tried this but it never worked. Also do you know I see ads on all the pictures that take up about 30% of the picture, making them useless.
After many attempts the cx-919 never would do miracast. Then I would get weird errors so I returned it. The chromecast might not be as flexible but it always WORKED. Given the cx919 has only single band wifi 2.4 gig I am not sure how it would work with miracast since dual wifi either is required or makes it much better I am going to try the netgear device next.
I read above that with nexus 4 paired to cx-919, the videos and games were a bit jerky
